CASE NUMBER: 241303/1

DECEDENT NAME: Talc, Slate
AGE/HEIGHT/WEIGHT: 24 / 6'2" / 189 lbs
EYE/HAIR COLOR: Grey / Black
DATE OF DEATH: 150324
LOCATION FOUND: Northen residential area, Astraios Colony
GENDER: Male
CAUSE OF DEATH: Overdose - Homicide
ATTENDING MEDICAL OFFICER: Cmdr Morath Landfall MD, OIC MCH

COMMENTS: Victim was declared missing/AWOL on 150320 after missing three duty shifts. Victim was discovered in a advanced state of decomp outside of a cabin in the colony's northern residential area. An examination of the cabin presented evident of more than one subject had been in residence with further evidence in the cabin and on the body, of sexual activity with a yet unidentified female.

Samples taken from the scene were tested and traces of a unknown chemical compound were present on one of two glasses, two foil packets and the victim's stomach contents. This compound was ingested orally through drink and apparently in small doses, would produce a euphoria that may have enhanced any sexual activity....however, the amount found in the victim's system caused his organs to fail in rapid succession, causing death within hours if not minutes.

Examination of the body at the scene indicated, along with duty records, death occurred approximately 3 to 4 days prior to discovery.....this was confirmed by celluar analysis during the postmortem. Also of note, was the surprising lack of signs of animal activity on and around the body....this may be due to the substance in the victim's system.

SUBJECT: CID CASE 241303/1
=========================

Male subject, Ens Slate Talc, found deceased outside of his personal cabin NE side northern residential area, Astraios Colony. Investigation commenced after he had missed three duty shifts, was considered AWOL, to be apprehended and brought to charges due to dereliction of duty. LTjg Nico P Caito, Engineer, was known to be a friend of the deceased and was interrogated. Through him we found the cabin and the body. After post modem Caito was questioned again. A possible female acquaintance, Latte, may have been at the cabin at the time of death but so far has not been found (see APF Bulletin 11452). Information provided suggest the drug or illicit substance was likely purchased on N'doto, at Gati. Talc had recently visited there while Helm Officer. Request permission to take an Away Team to Gati in order to find where and from whom this substance was purchased.

In service,
Ens Arum
